Jane Neal and her friend Lits welcome you to her home, a Maison d’Hotes located in the Orb Valley in Languedoc, the unspoilt South, with its sunny Mediterranean climate.
We offer bed and breakfast and a home cooked dinner on reservation.
We are passionate about our food and use only the freshest, locally produced ingredients, served ‘en famille’ on our ancient terrace, the remains of the 11th century abbey of Joncels.
The House is a 19th century ‘Maison d’Maitre’ with many original features. There are 5 very comfortable bedrooms, all ensuite with bath and toilet and the restful garden is shaded by a 200-year-old Cedar.

Our location is ideally placed to visit traditional and historic towns and wine-making villages in the magic region of the Cathares and Knight Templars.
There are marvellous walks all around, straight out of the door if you want a car free day, to discover the natural beauty of the countryside with its array of herbs and flowers in the unique ‘garrigue’ and of course mushrooms in season. We will happily pack up for you a sumptuous picnic!

We are only 45 minutes away by car from the Mediterranean and her long sandy beaches. It is also possible to swim nearby in Lake Salagou or in the open air pools at Lunas and Bedarieux.
We have loads of ideas of visits to interesting sights either by car or train, or you could just relax in the garden! There are many wines to discover in our region and Lits would be happy to give you a guided tour of these to include tastings in the personal caves of the vignerons. Or should you prefer, we would be delighted to present a different wine with each course at dinner (tutored wine tasting).
You can be assured of a very warm welcome at Domaine de Brousson.

Breakfast is a continental spread of fresh fruit, yoghurt, local honey, our home-made jams, bread, croissants, fruit juice, tea and coffee. We can, for a small charge, serve you a full English style breakfast made with special local sausages, bacon, boudin noir & eggs all from the Charcuterie in Herepian which was featured recently on Rick Steins’ ‘French Odessey’.
We tend not to serve lunch but are very happy to put together a delicious picnic for you to enjoy at one of the many stopping points en route.
